The Barren County Democratic Party recently completed its Shoes for Kids community service project.  On behalf of the Democratic Party, Maurae Foster and Volunteer of the Year Bennie Scott presented fifteen pair of new shoes and socks to Becky Honeycutt, Resource Director at E.B Terry Elementary School.  Funds for the project were obtained through donations from local Barren County Democrats and the party leadership would like to thank all of those who so generously gave to make the community service project a great success.  Proposals for another community service project were discussed at both the January and February meetings of the Democratic Executive Committee.  Due to the enthusiastic response to the Shoes for Kids project, the  Committee decided to continue that project for 2005.  If you would like to support the project or have any ideas or suggestions for the Democratic Executive committee, please call Brad Bailey at 560-4635 or Rita Riherd at 651-3542
